My Cat just projectile vomited?

My cat is 11 years old, and she's been throwing up for years. She always seems to have a hairball somewhere up in there. But today, she threw up, and it wasn't just a hairball with a little juice, it was projectile vomit, like a human. I was wondering what this might mean.
