Processing "Join This Group" Requests?

I am a moderator of a Yahoo Group. It is private. When someone clicks on "Join This Group", I get an email from Yahoo to accept or reject. I am religious about processing these incoming emails. - - - I just "Signed-In" to my Yahoo Group and noticed that there were many members "Pending", most of which I recall rejecting or accepting via the email that Yahoo sent me days before. What's going on? If I accept or reject someone via email, do I still need to process them in the "Pending" list at the Yahoo group?
